Project: Development of Regional Plans for 4 Municipalities in Albania.
«CONSULTING SERVICES, FOR DRAFTING GENERAL LOCAL PLANS, FOR 26 MUNICIPALITIES, IN ALBANIA – Lot 5 Drafting General Local Plans for the municipalities of: URA VAJGURORE, POLICAN, SKRAPAR, GJIROKASTER».
In the framework of this project, our company undertook the development of General Spatial Planning, with new specifications, in 4 Municipalities of Albania. These studies are a pilot project in Albania and will be a standard guide for similar projects to follow.

The study contract between GAIA SA And the Ministry of Urban Development of Albania, was signed on 27-1-2016, and a three-day agreement was signed between the Ministry, the Municipality and GAIA SA. Studies. The study was carried out in four phases: the first phase concerned the analysis and evaluation of the current situation; the second phase concerned the development of a strategy for the study area, the investments and the pilot development projects, the third phase related to the final proposal for The development of the area and finally, the 4th phase was the Strategic Environmental Impact Study.

The study “CONSULTING SERVICES, FOR DRAFTING GENERAL LOCAL PLANS, FOR 26 MUNICIPALITIES IN ALBANIA – Lot 5 Drafting General Local Plans for the Municipalities of: URA VAJGURORE, POLICAN, SKRAPAR, GJIROKASTER” is a strategic planning tool with social, economic, and ecological extensions aimed at integrating people and economic activities successfully into the environment, taking into account the balanced and sustainable development of the region.

For the preparation of the study, a single GIS database was created. This was the starting point for the organization of the geospatial information of the Municipality in categories according to national specifications, but also for decision-making at proposal level.

Deliverables of the study were compiled in a GIS environment according to the high standards of GIS deliverables as prepared by the relevant Ministry of Albania.
