The Environmental Assessment Study, which was elaborated in one stage, according to a circular of the Environment Directorate of the Ministry of Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works of the year 2004, concerns to the Triadio water supply projects and in particular, for upgrading and expanding projects of the external and internal network. The total water projects that will be built are related to two main pipelines, which cross the inside and outside urban planning zone area of the Triadi, connecting the network with the existing reservoirs to the east of the settlement. It is clarified that for the operation of the two boreholes environmental conditions have been approved while for the construction of the expanded water supply network in the east extension of the Triadi city plan no environmental permit is required, in accordance with the relevant in force legislation.
Therefore, the environmental study which elaborated concerns only the parts of the proposed Project, although it describes it in its entirety in order to understand its environmental impact assessment.
In the Environmental Assessment Study an identification table and a qualitative environmental impact assessment were used for the construction and «operation» phases of the proposed Project. Finally, environmental impact measures are proposed, which are realistic in their implementation, both from a construction and an economic point of view.
