The main goal of GAIA SA MELETON policy is to provide quality services within the shortest time and ensure high customer satisfaction whilst adhering to the principles of sustainable development, with one of its main orientation to be the respect to the human resources by providing a suitable and safe work environment. The means we use in order to achieve this goal is the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) according to ELOT EN ISO 9001:2018 and its continuous improvement , the implementation of a Health and Safety Management System (HSM) according to ELOT 1801:2008 (OHSAS 18001:2007) and the implementation of an environmental management system according to ELOT EN ISO 14001:2015.

Our Company specifies the quality of services provided and communication methods with its customers, based on the international standard ELOT EN ISO 9001:2008. GAIA S.A. MELETON applied the international standard EN ISO 9002:1994 since 1999. We transitioned to the EN ISO 9001:2000 standard in 2003 (inspected and accredited on 5th and 6th December, 2003) , to the ELOT EN ISO 9001:2008 in 2010 (inspected and accredited on 16th and 17th February, 2010) and to the ELOT EN ISO 9001:2018 in 2018 (inspected and accredited on 6th and 7th September).

In order to ensure a suitable and safe work environment for both members of the company and for the GAIA SA customers proceeded in the certification to the international standard OHSAS 18001: 2007 for Health and Safety at Work after a successful audit on September the 6th, 2016.

In addition, our Company, in its effort to control and to actively monitor the impact of its activities on the environment and to continuously improve its environmental performance through a series of preventive policies, has also been certified in the International Standard ISO 14001: 2015 for Environmental Management with the successful inspection on September 25th 2017

Through the QMS, HSM and EMS the company seeks to prevent nonconformities at every operative level, and aims to the continuous improvement of services in order to ensure and maintain the customer base, attract new clients and establish in the market as a reliable company in implementing services offered in addition to the provision of appropriate and safe working environment and the monitoring of  the impact of its activities on the environment by ensuring compliance with and enforcement of the existing legislation.

The company through its commitment of both Senior Management and its entire staff to the principles set forth in the Quality, Health and Safety at Work and Environment Policy and more generally, throughout the Management System, looks forward to the continuous and steady development of its business as a follow-up to a healthy and safe working environment, the prevention of environmental pollution, meeting the requirements of its customers and the continuous improvement of the quality of the services provided.

Its departments are required to comply with all requirements of customer service contracts as well as the quality of service provided as specified by the Management

Ensuring adherence to the required standards and legislative requirements, timely project delivery, and enhanced project design through an intense monitoring of scientific technical evolution, we excel at achieving not only “customer satisfaction”, but “customer delight”.

The company human resources ensure that the reguired specifications and Legislative requirements are met in all stages of the projects and the services offered. The delivery time, their quality standards as well as the ability to implement enhanced services because of the intense monitoring of scientific – technical developments are our main elements that ensure the supremacy of the Company in the wider business market in which it operates.

The Company’s management is committed towards the QMS and QMS and sets, reviews, redesigns and redefines the quality objectives along with the scope, goals and implementation indicators of Health and Safety at Work. Furthermore based on the methodology specified by the QMS and HSM, the company controls and evaluates the effectiveness of its work at all levels. All divisions must comply with all requirements in relation to customer service, contract management and service quality as specified by the Management.

In the context of this ongoing effort for upgrading, adapting to changing conditions and consequently to the increasing demands for regularization of services and the implementation of the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2015, we hold:

  • Briefings of company executives on the Management System.
  • Planning and Implementation of Internal Quality Audits and the Evaluation of compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Evaluations of documented Systems through planning and implementing Audits for the official Company’s certification in accordance to the requirements of standard ISO 9001:2008, OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2015 by an accredited institution.
  • Proof that our activities, related to the services, meet the conditions specified by Management System conventions.
  • Briefings of our customers on our Quality System, Health and Safety Management System and Environmental Management System.

The aim of the Management System applied by the Company that was designed according to the requirements of the International Standards ISO 9001:2008, OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2015 is the development and continuous improvement in the field of design and consultancy services to public and private sector by:

  • Formatting the Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Management Policy, which is unequivocal, clear, understandable and harmonized with the overall business Policy of the Company and covers all its activities.
  • Determining realistic objectives on quality, health and safety and environmental management to be pursued continuously and systematically for the implementation of the above mentioned Policy.
  • The layout and presentation of organizational schemes concerning Quality Management, Health & Safety Management and Environmental Management System.
  • Determining and clarifying the competences and responsibilities, concerning those appointed in this organizational scheme.
  • The description of the activities of Quality/ Health and Safety/Environmental Management with references, when appropriate, to independent Procedures and their interaction.
  • The reference to Technical Documents and Systems’ Data, describing qualitatively and quantitatively the resources and their performance.

The above are mandatory in all company’s activities for undertaking projects and similar services of congenital nature, provided that any such extension is analyzed sufficiently in order to develop and incorporate all necessary modifications, additions and adjustments and under the condition that any extension is communicated and approved by the Certification Organization.

GAIA S.A. MELETON’s object of work is to develop and audit projects, the management and supervision of private and public works and the provision of consulting services in the areas of Surveying, Cadastre, Town and City Planning, Architecture, Environmental, Hydraulic & Marine, Road Construction & Transportation, Civil Engineering, Geographical Information Systems (G.I.S.), Topographical and Cadastral Data Digitization and Rasterisation Projects and Development of Cartographical Data Projects and Geographical (Spatial) Database Projects. In Greece engineering consultants are certified by the government depending on their experience from level A to level C in their specific category of expertise.

Companies can form a corporate certificate by bringing together more than one experts, with the highest level of expertise in any category being level E. GAIA S.A. MELETON is registered in the Registry Office of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks (registration number 554) and holds consulting certificates in the following categories:

Corporate social responsibility

Our contribution to the progress and prosperity of the Greek society is a fundamental value that we uphold, and which determines the long-term and sustainable business activity and success of our Company.

In this context, we have developed a corporate culture which derives from our intention to act with responsibility towards the citizen and benefit all our stakeholders, including the Market, the customers, the shareholders, the employees, the Society and the Environment.

All technical studies prepared by the Company are subject to the principles of sustainability, sustainable development, environmental protection and social cohesion.

While unemployment is galloping and companies reduce wages and change labor relations, we prove that layoffs and salary reductions are not the only way forward. Our company can proudly say that amid this economic crisis we are continually researching and investing in new fields of operation in order to maintain jobs. In this context we hired more people, having as one of our key objectives the preservation of jobs, even at a somewhat reduced profit. At present our company consists of a potential which exceeds 90 people who earn a living by offering services to our customers.

Our company has completed many government contracts despite difficulties or inability in terms of funding by the assignment operator (public entities) in order to advance the implementation and realization of these for the benefit of citizens.

We strive daily in order to find methods that may solve procedural or bureaucratic challenges and enable the introduction of projects in the appropriate financing programs, in order to enable project completion and direct community benefit.

Many of our projects have a direct and significant influence on our fellow-citizens’ properties (e.g. urban / spatial studies, seting out land use and rights). All aspects of our work are guided by the principles of equity, integrity and impartiality while developing of our scientific scope.

We support and sponsor group events and individual initiatives that aim to protect or restore the natural or social environment, or assist vulnerable social groups

Our company’s clientele includes philanthropic and non-profit organizations and institutions which we serve without remuneration (pro-bono work).

Our company has at its disposal more than 100 computers and servers for any private or government project that provide great potential in the development of a task. We have in our possession multiple printers, scanners and multifunction devices, e.g. HPLaserjet, HPInkjet, Cannon, XEROX, Plotter A0 HP 1050c.
