The Study concerns the elaboration of the General Urban Plan of the Municipal Unit of Kassandra of the Kallikratis Municipality of Kassandra, based in Kassandreia. The Stage A and B1 have been completed and the Study and it is expected that the Stage B2 will be re-delivered, which will be submitted to the competent Council for Urban Planning Issues and Challenges of the Regional Unit of Chalkidiki.
The Municipality of Cassandra is located on the Kassandra Peninsula and occupies the northern and central parts of it. It covers an area of about 206 acres. In the Municipality of Kassandra there are three areas that fall under the «Natura 2000», network, one to the north of Sani, one to the north of N. Fokaias settlement and one to the east of Kassandrinos. The «Natura 2000», network also protects the “Cape Pyrgos-Ormos Kypsas-Malamos” area, in the northwest of the Municipality. The site was organized in residential development areas, in Areas of Control and Restriction of the Building and in Special Protection Areas.
