The Study concerns the elaboration of the General Urban Plan of the Municipal Unit of Polygyros of the Kallikratis Municipality of Polygyros, based in Polygyros. The Stage A and B1 have been completed and the Stage B2 is expected to be re-delivered, and will be submitted to the competent Council for Urban Planning Issues and Challenges of the Regional Unit of Chalkidiki.
The Kallikratis Municipality of Polygyros is centrally located on the peninsula of Halkidiki and occupies an area of approximately 470 acres. It presents a rich relief combining lowland, semi-mountainous and mountainous terrain. It has a rich natural environment, while Holomontas has joined the Natura 2000 Network. It also includes Wildlife Shelters, and a part of the Municipality belongs to the Ramsar Zone C of the Lakes of Koronia and Volvi. This study proposes urbanized and to urban areas, Buildings Control and Restriction Areas and Special Protection Areas.
