The Study concerns the elaboration of the General Urban Plan of the Municipal Unit of Agia Triada of the Kallikratis Municipality of Kastoria. The Stage A and the Stage B1 have been completed and it is expected that the bodies and the Board of Directors will be consulted and that the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment will be approved by the Ministry for the Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works, in order to give a mandate for the last Stage B2 of study with the final proposals.
The elements of the natural environment of the study area are distinguished by the Aliakmonas River and its natural ecosystems and the Koromilia Gorge. The lake of Kastoria, which is very close to the Municipality, is protected by the «Natura 2000» network. The Municipality of Agia Triada has archaeological sites and monuments, which should be shown appropriate.With regard to the distribution of the territory of the Municipality, the agricultural land occupies a greater area with a share of 51%, followed by pastureland (21%) and wooded land (17%). According to data of NSSG (2001), there are eleven settlements in the Municipality which are the Maniakos (former seat of Kapodistrian Municipality), Avgi, Koromilia, Lefki and Nea Lefki, Omorfoklisia, Pentavrisos, Ipsilo, Tsakoni, Chiliodendro and Poreia.
