The Environmental Impact Study, which was conducted in two stages, concerns in settlement projects of the two streams lowland bed (Vathilakos stream, as well as one of its branches) in the extension area of the city of the settlement of Thermi. This is a flood protection project, which will be achieved by cleaning the bed, dredging it in certain places, protecting the slopes and and the formation of cross-sections along the length of each stream, from which it will be possible to pass the forecasting from the hydrological flood study. Consequently, the construction and “operation” of the Project will protect the properties of individuals as well as the public, will contribute the cleaning of the streams and their aesthetic upgrading, and will protect various infrastructure projects in the study area. In the Environmental Impact Study an identification table and a qualitative environmental impact assessment were used for the construction and «operation» phases of the proposed Project.
Finally, environmental impact measures are proposed, which are realistic in their implementation, both from a construction and an economic point of view.
